Yacht Sailing Courses
If you own a a yacht and live in England. Can you sail to America and just stay there for a while?
Without telling anyone. I'm 16 and i was just wondering when i am older could i take my dads yacht and sail to America for a few months, without telling anyone. Well i mean would i have to tell the government or someone, as i know if you stay there longer than 6 months, you have to get a visa.
What i mean by not telling anyone is, i would tell my dad of course and my family. What i mean is would i have to tell anyone like the government, or fill out a form or something, saying i am going away
If you have permission to use the yacht, a full quota of life-saving and other equipment in accordance with Maritime Law, an in-date Ocean Skipper's Certificate with any necessary additions, for example a Radio Users Certificate, and have a Certificate Of Seaworthiness for the boat and all of it's chandlery and equipment including it's life-saving equipment and radio, a valid medical bill of health, insurance, a passport and visitor's visa, and register the journey with the relevant Port Authorities, Customs and Excise,Immigration, and the insurance company, then you may be able to sail to America.
