The TVI Express Business Opportunity, how long will it last?

TVI Express has recently hit the shores of North America with a bang and is rapidly climbing the rankings on Alexa, Google and many of the discussions boards on the Internet. Claims are being made about incredible income opportunities ranging from “$500 back in less than a week” to “$10,000 income within 30 days” and promises of bonuses that include laptops, luxury cars, exotic villas and even expensive yachts and jets. All of this for a single, one-time payment of $250. So the question is being posed, is TVI Express for real and how long will this thing last?

As these claims are being paid for by the income the company is generating, let’s take a closer look at what the company is saying. First of all there is almost no talk of income being generated from their key market segment, which is travel. Although there is some reference to the great deals that can be acquired from their “channel partners”, nowhere in the description of their compensation plan is there any mention of commissions being made from product sales. It is all about recruiting. So let’s see how the compensation plan is supposed to work.

The signup fee to join TVI is $250 for each individual (more like $300 with all of the fees). Then the new associate has to sponsor two recruits themselves and train those to do the same thing. Sound familiar? “Sponsor two, who sponsors two”. Once promoted from one “board” to the other this triggers the first payout of $250 cash and $250 in the form of a voucher. That’s when the fun starts. The next payout occurs when the new board is climbed and “cycled”. This triggers the next payout of $10,000 cash and $5,000 in travel vouchers. The process then repeats itself over and over again so that a continuous stream of $10,000 starts to become a reality.

Those of us who know what we are talking about will say this is a classic pyramid scheme, which is defined in most States as a compensation plan where the large majority of the income generated comes from recruiting and not product sales. Having said that, it would appear that TVI Express has been conceived by professionals who know what they are doing.

They are not based here in the USA and even the address shown on their website in the UK is false. In fact, after speaking to the building management firm in London it would appear that TVI left more than two months ago without leaving a forwarding address. Nobody can tell you who is the owner of this company or who the CEO or CFO is. It has been rumored one of the owners is of Indian descent but this has not been confirmed. They do not accept credit card payments directly and they bank at a small financial institution in Cypress, Greece. They cannot be reached by phone and the published number on their website rings three times and then switches to busy.

So the question is being asked, should I join TVI Express and if I do how long will it be in business? The key to this question lies in the fact that they have launched this company globally (currently in 50 countries, according to the company) and it is not quite clear where they are domiciled. This type of compensation plan only works if the rate of recruiting continuously increases. If the rate of increase slows or the owners start to mismanage funds, such a compensation plan would collapse rapidly. Launching globally virtually ensures rapid growth in the short term, which is probably why they started first in the very populous countries of India and China where there is also little or no regulation for these types of structures.

Can they afford the promises they are making? As long as management or the owners are not lining their own pockets excessively, they probably can. When they pay out the $10,000 in cash they have taken in gross proceeds in excess of $60,000, which can pay for a lot of things including the luxury cars and condos. I am not quite sure about the yachts and jets! The early indications are that the commissions are being paid on time and that multiple $10,000 checks have been issued but, as with all of these plans, people have to realize it is still only a small percentage that get paid the big bucks. In fact, in order for the big bucks to be paid, many thousands have to get paid nothing.

How long will TVI Express last? In my estimation it could last a couple of years as they expand their reach into different countries. An important component will be the USA, which will certainly be the main income engine for some time to come. It will be interesting to see how the authorities deal with a company that is not based in the US. Some States may decided to go after some of the bigger distributors as they have done before and if this happens and the growth slows it will be time to cash in. Another problem will be the enormous transfer of wealth out of the United States that might occur as the company grows. Do we know where that money is going? Will it fall into the hands of enemies of the US? Will the FBI or CIA get involved? It could be the start of a great movie!
